The first choice for tldnotes.com was tldnotes.fyi. As an abbreviation for "For Your Information," .fyi seemed like the perfect name for an observational record site.

However, our Japanese domain registrar (Xserver Domain) didn't offer .fyi. After weighing whether to split management across international registrars, we settled on .com. As a result, tldnotes.com is registered with Xserver Domain.
